7 — audiovisual performance by Radugadesign and composer Alexander Zaripov, premiered at Intervals Festival 2021, Nizhny Novgorod (~15 000 visitors over 3 days).
An exploration of how colour and sound are perceived — and how they act on us. The number seven appears across cultures and sacred texts: seven days of the week, seven notes of the octave, seven colours of the rainbow. Chance, or a pattern?
At the core: seven 12-metre LED columns. Generative visuals linked to multichannel audio in TouchDesigner let the audience "see" sound in fine detail and sense the character, psychology, and mood of colour and light. Flashes and sound waves stay in sync — a journey from monochrome to the full rainbow spectrum. Audio: 360° spatial sound and an experimental analogue ~40-minute track by Zaripov.
