Ether is a phygital installation by studio SIGNATURA and media artist Alexey Roudenko (arthew0) for Prosvet festival in Perm, 28–30 August 2026.
The room is the carriage yard and wing of the Meshkov steamship-owner's estate, Monastyrskaya 11. Brick walls and arches are part of the piece. A diode sphere, two metres across, sits on a wooden sled in straw. It takes in a live radio ether — stations, frequencies, signal — and shows it as light on the sphere and as a line across the floor.

Legend
A message from another time. A post-technological society has gone back to an older way of living, but the giant machines around it no longer have a known purpose. In a snow field a boy finds a glowing sphere. It carries an echo of time by radio: a conductor between past and future.
Three acts
The visit is a short performance, about nine minutes.
